This year unlike the past, the festival lasted two weeks and consisted of two themes: DanceAbility the first week and the second contact improvisation. The presence of danceabiliti and I leave myself as speech, say: "Dancing with the resources they possess, no disability or disabilities, if not different capacities, different capabilities to resolve what has to be done", that and the reflection a colleague asked me in a conversation, planted in me a question: Do we want

encounter Dance + DanceAbility contact improvisation, is a festival oriented and affordable only to dancers, actors, body workers and those who can afford the registration fee?

From my perspective ... no.

I think our duty as people linked to the development, exploration, questioning and dissemination of artistic expression, is to make available these initiatives to those that our culture leaves off. It is our responsibility not to become an elite, if not in a community that creates open space in decentralizing this busy "practice" (make jams in gyms, parks or other, in areas of the city where social risk). Work on the creation of workshops around the capital and beyond, interested in sharing the beauty we experience in dance, to be available to anyone interested, regardless of ethnicity, social class, physical or mental condition.

The second year brought us many dance festival, new faces, energies and friends, more experience, and teachers who had accompanied us, new teachers like Gabriela Morales and Alito Alessi and of course a very physical sensation, something of a fatigue successful ... thanks to all who participated and made this second meeting.

DanceAbility I think is part of a revolution in our understanding of ability and disability of the body, ability and disability of people.
All bodies are able to speak. All bodies communicate. All bodies speak. DanceAbility is about allowing your body talk, let your body listen. They are simple things. Simple and magical. What are our true limitations? Where are they? To DanceAbility, are only in isolation. When we isolate ourselves, we limit ourselves. When we communicate, we gain the power of the entire community. After the meeting of Contact Improvisation dance in Santiago, at the Metropolitan University of Educational Sciences during the week from 7 to 11 January 2008, has sprouted a sense of community has been the emergence of a heterogeneous group that meets constant in different practice areas to Contact Improvisation. (CI)

So this year (2008) have kept alive the drive, the flow incardinated articulates us and threw us to the dance. How?, Creating continuity through Jams Free or open sessions of contact improvisation, sporadic during March and April, and weekly since May, whose value is not only the continuity of the practice, but vivénciales networks that are beginning to knit, expand and tighten. I mean, conversation and exchange of ideas and experiences related or not, to this dance, integration and constant turnover of people in the group, whether as also the participation of persons outside any kind of body practice, a mixture of perspectives and ways of addressing the jam, the group continued to roam in different art spaces, dance studios, universities and colleges, and free self-management sessions are edges of the phenomenon as beautiful as the practice itself.

But they have not been just the Jams, which have nourished the group. On April 25 perform "Route 06/03, a performance or attempt to spill the CI on the streets of our Santiago. Framed within the global events celebrating 36 years of Contact (CI36 Satellite Events) and for about four hours, covering 3.6 kilometers in challenging improvisation.

Then on June 7 and the hand of Florence Martinelli dance teacher, an Uruguayan, we "Trayecto.cerroabajo" this time contact improvise and live on the streets of Valparaiso. (Satellite CI36 Events)

Another revealing day for the group was the 36-hour Jam (also satellite event and global synchronization). During the weekend of 14 and 15 June 2008, at the dance studio and art space Nimiku, we created a marathon experience, hypnotic and exploratory improvisation.

also shared with the Workshop Exploratory Integrative Dance "composed by adults with disabilities (wrongly called" disabled "), specifically blind and low vision, those who explore and inhabit one of the smoothest jams and kind of our days.

And in August, the 24-hour jam, something like the finding by the group, that at night I turn the creative discourse, energy is changed, we are all more sensitive and able to improvise.
